Rule 209: How Shall We Be Able to Fear the Judgments of God? (R. 188)
The expectation of any terrible thing naturally causes fear. E For in this way we fear wild animals and rulers,1 expecting to experience some evil at their hands. So if a man believes that the threatenings of the Lord are true and expects a frightful and terrible experience of them, he fears the judgments of God.
