Book 2, 39. Of Bishop Licinius
After the death of Eustochius, bishop of Tours,1 Licinius was consecrated as eighth bishop after Martin. In his time was waged the war which I have above described, and it was in his time that King Clovis came to Tours. He is said to have been in the East, to have visited the holy places, and to have even entered Jerusalem; it is related that he often saw the places of the Passion and Resurrection of our Lord, of which we read in the Gospels.
