Testament of Our Lord

tr. Cooper and Maclean, 1902

12. Book II, Chapter 12

Let the end1 of Pascha be after the Saturday, at midnight.

[At] Pentecost let no one fast or kneel. For these are days of rest and joy.

Let those who bear the burdens of labour refresh2 themselves a little in the days of Pentecost, and on every first day of the week.

Let the bishop, before he offereth the Offering,3 say what is fitting for the Offering, while those who are clothed in white receive from one another and say [to one another] Hallelujah.

Notes

  1. Lit.: dissolution; or: loosing.
  2. Lit.: assist.
  3. Lit.: before the oblation of the Offering.
