Rule 181: If There are Brotherhoods Near One Another and One is Poor While the Other…
How can they who have been taught in the love of Christ to lay down even life itself for one another be stingy as regards the things of the body? They seem to forget His words: “I was an hungred and ye gave me no meat etc.” But if this should happen, the poor brethren ought to be long-suffering, fully convinced that they will receive consolation in the world to come, following the example of Lazarus.
