Book 3, 26. Of the Death of Deuteria’s Daughter
When Deuteria perceived how her daughter was grown up, she feared that the king might desire her and take her to himself; she therefore set her in a cart drawn by untamed bulls and caused her thus to be driven over a bridge, so that she was drowned in the river. This happened at Verdun.
